What Are Clear Aligners?
Clear aligners are a modern, discreet orthodontic treatment used to correct “malocclusion” (misaligned teeth). Instead of the fixed metalwork associated with traditional braces, this system uses a series of bespoke, transparent plastic trays—often referred to as positioners.
In the UK, these are a popular private dental treatment for adults and teens looking for a less noticeable way to improve their smile. Each tray is custom-moulded to your teeth using 3D digital scans, designed to apply precise, gentle pressure to move your teeth into the desired position over time.

The Process
Consulation
Your dentist will check over your mouth and ensure it’s healthy first.
Scan
Impressions are taken to allow a scan of your teeth allowing a 3D mouth image to be built.
Plan
Your dentist will work with our clear aligner provider to plan your new smile.
Aligners
Aligners are provided that are made specially for you. Your dentist will supervise the treatment to ensure it is progressing as planned.

The Benefits of Clear Aligners
- Discreet Appearance: Unlike traditional “train track” braces, clear aligners are made from transparent, medical-grade plastic. This makes them virtually invisible, allowing you to straighten your teeth without feeling self-conscious in professional or social settings.
- Improved Oral Hygiene: Because the aligners are fully removable, you can brush and floss your teeth normally. This significantly reduces the risk of plaque build-up and gum disease, which can sometimes be a challenge with fixed metal brackets.
- Predictable Results with Digital Planning: Most UK providers use advanced 3D scanning technology to map out your journey. This allows you to see a digital simulation of your final smile before you even begin the first stage of treatment.
